Biography
Carin Rennings is one of the mid-Atlantic area’s most talented singers. Her resonant alto and stirring stage performances have electrified audiences since her college days.
She has studied with nationally renowned Rounder Record recording artist, Dede Wyland, as well as WAMMIE (Washington Area Music Association) award winning jazz vocalist, Pam Bricker.
Transformative musical influences, including Ann Wilson of Heart, Bonnie Raitt, legendary jazz singer, Nancy Wilson, and Eva Cassidy, have helped Carin develop powerful and versatile vocals with elements of rock, jazz, blues and folk style. Her passionate interpretations, whether down & dirty, hurt & lonely or sweet & tender, all send you on an emotional journey.
Carin has performed with countless local music legends and recording artists, including Darryl Davis (who himself played with Chuck Berry), Deanna Bogart, Billy Kemp and Dede Wyland. She established her own dynamic rock band called “The Source” in 2003. She developed a loyal following singing with a talented jazz quartet at Asian Bistro in Columbia, Maryland in 2005. She created a self-titled acoustic band that performed in the Baltimore area to popular acclaim in 2006. Carin has appeared on local TV and radio stations including WUSA Channel 9 and Fox 45 News. She was featured several times on Cosmopolitan people, a Baltimore based radio show about successful individuals.
Widely known as a compassionate veterinarian , Carin organized and performed in two benefit concerts for severely abused and neglected animals. She enjoys rehabilitating troubled pets through behavior modification and energy work as a mobile practitioner.
Carin has taken a sabbatical from performing to focus on the release of her first CD. She is currently in the final phases of production and is looking forward to marketing it nationally.
